Local traffic meeting: The JPA hosted a meeting on April 12th at the Agassiz School auditorium at which more than 60 residents from Dunster Road, Centre, Orchard, Eliot, Dane, Aldworth, Prince and Holbrook Streets, Boston Transportation Department Commissioner Thomas Tinlin, an engineer from BTD, representatives from Boston Police E-13, City Councillor John Tobin and Colleen Keller from the Mayor's Neighborhood services office discussed traffic issues in this neighborhood. The BTD provided results of a traffic study on Dunster Rd.and Holbrook St. that indicated that the volume and speed of traffic did NOT warrant measures such as reversing the direction of any one way streets at this time. As a result of the discussion, the BTD has installed new STOP signs at the Orchard and Dane intersection, on Aldworth entering Dane, and on Dane at the Dunster intersection as well as No Parking Here To Corner signs on Dane St. Please see the summary from the follow-up sub-committee meeting for more details.
